The experience points (XP) that the player needs per level to advance have been drastically revised and amount to several thousand points per level. Crafting yields less than 10 XP if at all per action, palcing settlement building objects exactly "0" XP. Thus, the player is challenged to explore and experience the world of Fo4 Horizon and can no longer use exploits. The "Survival Stats Menu", which can be accessed through the Field Kit, provides information about current XP and how many points are required for the next level.

Leveling[]

The vanilla FO4 leveling system is one of the many system overhauled by Horizon. Leveling has been altered and many experience points are required to reach a new character level. Leveling still grant perk points which the player can "trade" for perks.

In Horizon, additional 4 perk points are given at level 3, and then every 5 levels starting with 10.

Finally, at level 15 and 30, the player can specialize once each.

Experience points required for level "n" can be calculated from the following expression:

Developer Notes[]

  • Crafting and Building no longer gives tiny bits of xp: There is no good way to properly balance it, so getting XP for building simple objects with common materials made no sense at all. XP should really be gained from exploring, fighting, questing, and special tasks. If you really want it back that badly, just make your own FO4edit patch to reverse the change.
